Wallsend Op Shop Trail

Did you know there are 5 second-hand stores in Wallsend?

What is The Wallsend
Op Shop Trail?

Since 2022, The Full Circle Collective has established the Wallsend Op Shop Trail as a key tourist destination, while highlighting the environmental and social benefits our op shops provide for our community.

The trail showcases how circular economy principles can be used at a local level to support community revitalisation, increase sustainable consumption practices and strengthen local economic activity.

Environmental and social benefits of the Wallsend op shops

Wallsend op shops and second-hand stores give clothing and other items new life, and help reduce the amount ending up in landfill in Newcastle.

Op shops provide valuable volunteer opportunities for our community, and proceeds of sales at Wallsend’s charitable op shops go towards a variety of excellent social causes in our region.

Purchasing second-hand helps reduce the consumption of energy, water, and raw materials required to make something new.
